McCook, Nebraska—In Celebration of National Diabetes Month, Community Hospital is sponsoring a free dinner and diabetes talk. “The Relationship of Exercise to Weight Loss, One Athletic Trainer ’s Story,” will be presented Thursday, November 1. Dinner is at 6:00 p.m. and the talk begins at 6:30 p.m. It will be held at Community Hospital in Prairie View Conference Rooms A and B. The public is invited.
The talk features Doug Long, Certified Athletic Trainer & Clinical Exercise Specialist from Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte, Nebraska. Doug will tell his story of weight loss and its relationship to exercise. He will discuss different types of exercise, physical restrictions/alternative exercises, inexpensive ways to exercise and the importance of good foot wear.
