Main Hallway Opens for More Direct Access to Patient Wing

McCook, Nebraska—As Community Hospital nears the completion of its new surgery wing, the completed main hallway for visitors opens up to access the patient wing and the former, longer corridor is being torn down. The new hallway on the south side of the hospital opened up last week near the front entrance. It allows visitors and family members a shorter, more direct route to the patient wing.

The temporary connector hallway near the emergency room department on the north side of the hospital is being torn down this week. For more than a year this corridor was the only access from the hospital’s main campus to the new patient wing. As many materials as possible from the connector hallway will be repurposed in the hospital.

Visitors and patients may still park in the north emergency department parking lot, but if they are visiting someone in the patient wing, parking in the front parking lot near the main entrance will decrease walking.
