McCook, Nebraska—Community Hospital is pleased to announce that a new visiting physician specializing in urology will see patients at the Medical Specialists Center in McCook.
Michael L. Gallentine, M.D. is associated with Great Plains Regional Medical Center’s clinic, Urology Care of Great Plains. To care for the growing volume of urology patients in McCook, he will see patients at Community Hospital the second Friday of every month beginning April 13.
Dr. Gallentine practices general urology and offers comprehensive clinical and surgical services, including surgery at Community Hospital for the convenience of local patients. In addition to general urology, his scope of practice includes female urology, laparoscopic surgery, endourology, oncology, infertility and pediatric urology.
"Dr. Gallentine, with his experience and passion for patient care, will be a wonderful addition to our 30-plus specialists who currently visit Community Hospital each and every month,” said Jim Ulrich, Community Hospital President and CEO. “His clinics and surgical services in McCook will enable us to better meet the multitude of medical needs throughout the region of southwest Nebraska and northwest Kansas."
Dr. Gallentine, who is originally from Broken Bow, received his Medical Doctorate from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his urology residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, where he received numerous honors. Prior to coming to North Platte, he served as a staff urologist for the U.S. Air Force in Texas, England, and Chief of Urology in Colorado.
He is board certified by the American Board of Urology and is a member of the American Urology Association.
