Hotel California – A Salute to the Eagles
On September 23, the Historic Fox Theatre in McCook was the venue for a Salute to the Eagles performed by Hotel California; a group that came together to fill the void left by the demise of the Eagles in 1982. Nearly 300 theatre goers were entertained for two solid hours, including a 3 song encore by the band comprised of five multi-talented top musical professionals who faithfully and accurately reproduce the sounds of the Eagles. They presented a dynamic show that allowed the audience to once again experience the energy and magic of timeless music.
Judging by the crowd’s reaction, the performers surpassed their goal. As emcee, Cal Siegfried said, “If you close your eyes and just listen, you would think you were hearing a concert by the original Eagles group.”
Donations by sponsors covered all expenses to bring Hotel California to McCook. One hundred percent of ticket sales benefit Community Hospital in the purchase of a new 3D mammography and biopsy system. The new equipment can detect breast cancers 5-10% more accurately and earlier than previous equipment.
