Diabetic Support Group to Meet May 21

Community Hospital’s diabetic support group will meet Tuesday, May 21 at noon in the Prairie View A conference room at Community Hospital, 1301 East H Street. Lunch will be served. The program will be presented by Laura Kugler, RN, of Senior Life Solutions. Senior Life Solutions is an intensive outpatient group therapy program designed to meet the emotional needs of those 65 years of age and older.

This program is not just for the diabetic patient. If you know someone who is experiencing any of the following, they may attend as well:

  • Recently experiencing a traumatic event
  • Loss of spouse or close family member
  • Loss of interest in previously enjoyed activities
  • Changes in appetite
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Loss of energy
  • Feelings of sadness or grief lasting more than two weeks
  • Feelings of worthlessness or hopelessness

There is no charge to attend. The diabetic support group is sponsored by Community Hospital and is open to all diabetics, their families and those interested in learning more about diabetes. The group generally meets for about one hour every other month at Community Hospital on the third week of the month, September through May.
