After July 1, 2019, Community Hospital will no longer be providing car seat checks at the hospital, but trained staff will continue to offer car seat checks at the McCook Fire Department on the second Wednesday—every other month. The change is being made to provide consistency while still providing a service for the community.

The car seat checks are for anyone who transports children in a personal vehicle. Beginning Wednesday, July 10 from 10 am to 4 pm, the car seat events will be offered at the McCook Fire Department at 505 West C Street in McCook. Subsequent events will happen on the second Wednesdays of September, November, January, March, etc.

Appointments are not necessary, but are recommended by calling 308-344-8525. Please arrive with the child and the car seat needing to be checked. Car seats checks take 30 to 45 minutes per child, per car seat if there are no unique situations or challenges identified.
