Board of Directors Met October 15

During the Community Hospital board of directors meeting on October 15, Jon Reiners, Director of Strategy, updated the directors on the recent regional market assessment. The board reviewed board of director job description roles, responsibilities and the attendance policy, as well as the Community Hospital corporate bylaws. Directors were asked to complete The Governance Institute board self-assessment by November 7. Results will be reviewed at the December meeting. They also received education on cybersecurity from Lori Beeby, Vice President Support Services.

Under Review of Activities, directors learned:

  • Community Hospital’s home health and hospice department is hosting an annual soup and bread bowl luncheon in the Prairie View meeting rooms for employees from 11AM to 1 PM on November 13 in honor of hospice and home health month. Employees may also donate food for the food pantry, toys for the Toy Box or monetary donations to either.
  • The hospital received a 2019 Community Service Award from the McCook Fire Department
  • Board members are invited to The Advisory Board mini-conference on January 23 from 3:30 to 8:30 PM at Community Hospital. Also invited to the networking and educational opportunity are board members and administrative staff from Decatur Health, Tri-Valley, Dundy County, Chase County and Great Plains Health hospitals. Topics include The State of the Union and Best-in-Class Consumer Experience Implementation.

The board approved appointments and/or reappointments of affiliate, courtesy, telemedicine and specialty medical staff privileges. Minutes and committee reports were approved from the September 10 regular medical staff meeting, and the September 18 regular meeting of board of directors.
