Visitors Allowed

Community Hospital has made the decision to allow visitors in to see inpatients due to low positive cases of COVID-19 in the area over the past few weeks. Effective immediately, inpatients will be allowed one visitor at a time. Visitors will be screened and must wear a mask at all times while in the facility. Children under age twelve are not permitted at this time. Strict visiting hours will be adhered to, 9 AM to 4:30 PM. The front doors will be locked at 4:30 PM.


The hospital cafeteria, Harvest Café, is now open to the public. Visitors and staff must practice social distancing. Main entrees are offered as before. A variety of premade salads with optional prepackaged toppings are offered since the salad bar is closed at this time.

Gift Shop

Community Hospital’s Garden View Gift Shop will open to the public on Monday, September 14. The shop opens with all new fall décor for sale. Customers are limited to three at a time for their safety.


Residents of Nebraska are encouraged to continue using the free TestNebraska program to test for COVID-19. Community Hospital is offering testing sites September 16 and October 7 and 14 at the Red Willow County Fairgrounds Merchant Building in McCook from 8-10 AM. 

Appointments are necessary by going to Eligible residents will receive a QR code, unique to that specific individual and not transferable, which is good for eight days. Bring the QR code and your driver’s license to the appointment. For any residents who do not have home Internet, appointments can be made at the test sites, but all individuals are encouraged to make reservations at home prior to coming to the testing site if at all possible.
