Hospital Announces Caring Kind Recipient
September 30, 2020
Community Hospital is honored and excited to announce the hospital’s 2020 Caring Kind recipient is Tierney Reilly, Director of Materials Management. Tierney joined Community Hospital in November 2018.
Some of the nominations submitted on her behalf stated:
“(Tierney) is responsible, through her foresight, for our hospital being able to provide safe care protecting our staff and patients. When COVID started Tierney was the organized, future thinking, cool head we needed. She expedited COVID efforts along with her regular job as well! Was victorious in several situations including employee interactions and storage challenges. She did more than any of us will ever truly know about. She worked diligently six days a week for weeks. One nominee wrote, they were so impressed with how Tierney knew where to go, who to call, and how to keep track of everything! Tierney displays a CH hospital value, ownership. She dominated not only supplying our facility, but area healthcare entities as well. Tierney holds staff accountable which is so important with our focus on excellence. Tierney is smart, tough, and fun! Her dedication to each and every co-worker is incredible! Our community is blessed to have such a lovely person alongside us. We are not really sure we can ever thank her enough.”
For 41 years, the Nebraska Hospital Association has been honored to bestow awards to Nebraska health care employees that have risen to the top by providing service excellence and dedication to their profession. These award recipients commit themselves to the betterment of their hospitals and health systems, their customers, their co-workers and their communities. The recipients are usually honored at the Caring Kind luncheon during the NHA annual conference. This year, since the NHA conference will not be held, recipients will be recognized through a media release, publications and a web-based slide show that will run on the NHA website during the month of November.
Each NHA member hospital and health system is invited to nominate one employee from their facility who exemplifies caring, compassion, teamwork and service excellence in their job responsibilities. Past recipients have included hospital employees, trustees and volunteers from a wide variety of positions, but they all exemplify the teamwork, dedication and spirit that create a positive work environment and enhance patient care.
