Diabetic Support Group Meets November 4

October 19, 2021

Come celebrate National Diabetes Month with Community Hospital’s diabetic support group on Thursday, November 4 at 3 p.m. in the Prairie View meeting rooms.

Sharon Conroy, RN, Community Hospital Infection Control Nurse, will discuss how the COVID-19 virus can affect people with diabetes. Pat Rice, Community Hospital Registered Dietitian, will demonstrate how to eat healthy over the holidays. Come sample her holiday recipes and take home some new ideas.

Also meet Terrie Unger, RN, Community Hospital’s new Diabetes Educator. She is joining Monica Wacker, RN, Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist at Community Hospital to provide diabetes services to the region.

RSVPs are not required. For questions call Wacker at 308-344-8539 or email, mwacker@chmccook.org. Guests should bring their own mask and will be screened at the hospital entrance. They will sit one per table unless they are with family members.

There is no charge to attend. The diabetic support group is sponsored by Community Hospital and is open to all diabetics, their families and those interested in learning more about diabetes. The group did not meet last year, but generally meets about one hour every other month at Community Hospital on the third week of the month, September through May.
