Free COVID test kits are still available through Community Hospital, according to Baleigh Abbott, Community Hospital Population Health and Outreach Coordinator, but the means of distributing the tests has changed. Anyone in southwest Nebraska can request a test kit by calling Abbott at 308-344-8550. She will make arrangements for pickup to those who request it.

Tests will still be available in Curtis at the city offices: Curtis Memorial Community Center, 201 Garlick Avenue during regular business hours.

There is no limit on who can pick up test kits. They are available, for instance, for individuals, families, employees of businesses and schools as long as supplies last. The kits came via the Health Resource and Service Administration, National Association of Rural Health Clinics, an agency of the U.S. Department of Health.
