National Hospital Week, May 8-14

May 9, 2022

Sunday kicked off National Hospital Week 2022 at Community Hospital with the theme: Happy Healthy Together. “Our employees have taken on unimaginable challenges and have risen to the occasion repeatedly during the last two years,” said Troy Bruntz, Community Hospital President & CEO. “We are proud of them and we are grateful. We hope they can enjoy and celebrate some of the activities this week as we recognize them and the hard work they do for every one of our patients.”

Our staff is unique in that we cannot close for any reason,” he continued. “Our doors must stay open even when a wildfire is approaching town, or a snowstorm makes travel impossible. Our staff stays nearby in hotels or in the building during their off hours to ensure they don’t miss their next shift when things like this happen. Where else would you find this sort of voluntary dedication to one’s community? So, spending a week celebrating hospital staff and making sure they know how special they are, is the least we can do.”

Hospital employees were treated to breakfast burritos and other delicious breakfast options yesterday. Other fun activities include a free jeans day and poker walk on Tuesday; free Carver Cinemas movies on Wednesday, build-your-own-tacos from a food truck on Thursday, and apple crisp and outdoor lawn games on Friday.

Community Hospital asks the public to join in this effort to help celebrate National Hospital Week by showing support to all health care workers.
