New Visiting Oncologist

Benjamin George, M.D., a physician specializing in medical oncology and hematology from North Platte, begins seeing patients at Community Hospital’s Medical Specialists Center on June 14. Dr. George is in practice full-time at the Callahan Cancer Center at Great Plains Health in North Platte and will see patients in McCook once a week. New patients must be seen in North Platte at the Callahan Cancer Center to establish care (308-568-7386). All follow-up visits can be scheduled in McCook by calling the Community Hospital Central Scheduling office at 308-344-8285.  

Dr. George is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. He completed medical school at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His residency in internal medicine, and fellowship in hematology/oncology were completed at Brooke Army Medical Center, Ft. Sam Houston, Texas.

Dr. George is passionate about taking the time to ensure every patient and their family understand the treatment process and prognosis for their disease. He focuses on delivering compassionate medical care, and is committed to excellence and providing the most up-to-date treatments.
