Hosting Healthy Connections at Senior Center

November 2, 2022

Healthy Connections: Enriching Lives 50-Plus, will be held at the Heritage Senior Center, 1312 West 5 Street, McCook, on November 10 at 11 AM. Hosted by Community Hospital, anyone aged 50 and over is invited to attend. Speaker for the event is Troy Bruntz, Community Hospital President & CEO. Bruntz will speak on “Hospital Happenings” during the Healthy Connection welcome event. To attend, please RSVP to the Healthy Connections hotline, at 308-344-8255.

Attendees may also stay for lunch at the Senior Center, but are asked to RSVP to Beth Seigfried at 308-345-1760.

Healthy Connections is the new name for the former program, Sterling Connection. Community Hospital’s Sterling Connection was a robust and active program to those 50 and older before COVID-19 put a pause on group meetings. The hospital is looking at re-engaging the program once more, according to Baleigh Abbott, Community Hospital Outreach Coordinator. “Our focus will continue to be the same, but with a new name,” she said. “We want to educate our members on ways to lead healthy lives, help them to learn about hospital services and how to access those services, and just have some fun!”

She added that since the Sterling Connection program is no longer sponsored by Bryan Health, the hospital decided to rename and revitalize its senior group. “We are updating and rebuilding our membership list,” she said. “If you want to receive invites for our quarterly get-togethers, please call the hotline at 308-344-8255 and leave your name, address and phone number so we can add you to our membership list.”
