Anthony Rodewald Honored as 2016 Caring Kind

November 09, 2016

McCook, Nebraska—Anthony Rodewald, Community Hospital Director of Pharmacy, was honored in October as Community Hospital’s 2016 Caring Kind recipient during the Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA) annual convention in La Vista. During the convention, Rodewald was a guest at the Caring Kind luncheon along with other recipients from across the state.

The Caring Kind award is a time-honored tradition of the NHA. It recognizes outstanding health care employees who have demonstrated compassion for patients, cooperation with coworkers and dedication to providing the best care possible. Hospitals across the state select a Caring Kind recipient from within their respective institutions.

Rodewald was nominated by co-workers and chosen by the Community Hospital PACT (Pride, Activities, Communication Team) Committee. He has worked at Community Hospital since May 2003.

His announcement read:

“Anthony Rodewald, PharmD, Director of Pharmacy, has been selected as the Community Hospital 2016 Caring Kind. Anthony is an excellent example of the ‘Caring Kind’ in his role at Community Hospital as well as in his personal life.

Anthony has invaluable interpersonal skills allowing him to work collaboratively alongside providers, peers, and all staff. His actions show that he cares for patients, co-workers, his department and the organization. He runs his department with efficiency, confidence, courage, knowledge and a bit of humor while maintaining a patient-centered focus in the commitment to excellent patient care. His work with antimicrobial stewardship is stellar and he has taken the implementation of the new Baxter IV Smart Pumps to a new level, working out all the kinks and bumps along the way.

Thank you Anthony for your outstanding dedication to Community Hospital, McCook.

We are truly honored to recognize you as our 2016 Caring Kind!”

His wife, Jennifer, was able to attend the luncheon with him, along with some Community Hospital staff. He and Jennifer have four children ElsiAnna, 15; Kailynn, 13; Samantha Jo, 11; and Blake, 8.
