Community Hospital Joins NeHII

September 02, 2015

McCook, Nebraska—Community Hospital is now providing a secure means of electronic exchange of clinical information among physicians and other healthcare providers after joining NeHII (prounounced Knee-High), the statewide Health Information Exchange (HIE) for Nebraska.

The network allows hospitals, physicians and other healthcare providers to share lab results, radiology reports and transcription reports, with the goal of improving patient safety and quality of healthcare, while reducing costs. NeHII securely and instantly connects Nebraska hospitals, labs, physicians, pharmacies, and clinics, and is serving approximately 1 million of Nebraska’s 1.7 million patient lives, with continued growth expected.

NeHII, one of the first and most rapidly implemented Health Information Exchange systems in the U.S., joins other HIEs as they work to achieve “meaningful use” of health information technology through the use of certified electronic health records, to capture health information in order to achieve improvements in quality, safety and efficiency of healthcare, and the improvement of population health.
