Program Addresses Diabetic Portion Sizing at Restaurants

McCook, Neb.—To celebrate National Diabetes Month, Community Hospital is hosting a program, “Portion Size Me, Too!” on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. The program, shown as a DVD, centers around the importance of portion control, fast food choices and other ideas when confronted with what to order when eating out.

“Some of us need help in knowing proper portions of food. The program discusses how much food should we put on our plate and the best choices at fast food restaurants,” said Monica Wacker, RN, Certified Diabetes Educator and facilitator of the diabetes support group. Discussion will follow the presentation. Light snacks will be served.
