Trenton Medical Clinic to Celebrate 20th Anniversary with Health Fair and Open House

McCook, Nebraska—To celebrate their 20th anniversary, Trenton Medical Clinic will host a health fair and open house on Thursday, April 2 from 8-11 AM at 406 East First Street in Trenton. The public is invited.

A variety of booths and screenings will be offered including three blood tests: blood chemistry, $35, thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), $25, and prostate specific antigen (PSA) for men, $20.

Payment of cash or check only will be accepted at the door prior to the blood draws. Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance billing is also available if you bring your insurance card. For the most accurate test results, fasting is recommended, meaning nothing to eat or drink except water for 12 hours before the tests. Medications may be taken as usual. Blood tests will be provided by McCook Clinic.

Hearing tests and blood pressure checks will also be provided. Other services to be featured from Community Hospital are: massage therapy, nutritional counseling, speech therapy, diabetic education, FROG and Sterling Connection information, cancer services and tobacco cessation. The Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department will also provide a booth and information.

During the health fair and open house, the clinic will provide continental breakfast items, anniversary cake, giveaways and the opportunity to sign up for door prizes.

Trenton Medical Clinic opened in 1995 following the construction of a new 70 by 96-foot medical center/library/community building constructed by the Trenton Community Development commission (TCDC) officials. Initially, McCook Clinic, PC managed and provided the medical care of physicians and physician assistants. Community Hospital took over the management and began providing a full-time physician assistant at the Trenton Medical Clinic in 1999 due to McCook Clinic growth and increased patient loads in McCook. Community Hospital expanded and updated the clinic in 2009 using former library space.

Teresa Hodgson, certified physician assistant joined the Trenton clinic medical staff in the spring of 1999. She sees patients full-time at the clinic. Four family medicine physicians from McCook Clinic visit Trenton on a rotating schedule, including Kristin Fulkerson, M.D., Richard Klug, M.D., Mark Serbousek, M.D. and John West, M.D. General surgeon, Dr. Brenda Kopriva, provides consultations, follow-up checks, and simple in-office procedures on the second and fourth Fridays of every month.

The clinic also offers routine healthcare services for the entire family including preventative healthcare and education, laboratory and X-ray services, outpatient services, allergy shots and minor procedures. It includes a waiting room, four exam rooms, a treatment room, laboratory, X-ray room, private provider office and receptionist-office area.

Clinic hours are 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Appointments may be made by calling 308-334-5155.
