McCook, Neb. — Community Hospital employees demonstrated the power of collective generosity through the 2025 Heart of Giving Employee Appeal, raising nearly $60,000 in support of patient care, staff education, and emergency assistance through the Community Hospital Health Foundation.

A total of 188 employees participated in the annual appeal, contributing through payroll commitments and one time gifts that will support critical healthcare needs across the hospital over the coming year.

“What makes this campaign especially meaningful is that it’s driven by the people who know our patients and our work best,” said Jessica Bortner, Executive Director of the Community Hospital Health Foundation. “Our employees are on the front lines of care every day, so they often recognize where resources can make the greatest difference—for their departments, their coworkers, and the patients they serve.”

Funds raised through the Heart of Giving Employee Appeal help provide essential resources that directly support the hospital’s mission, including lifesaving medical equipment, patient assistance, continuing education, and emergency support for patients and employees facing unexpected hardships.

“The Foundation exists to help turn those needs into action,” Bortner said. “When employees give through Heart of Giving, they are helping ensure the tools, education, and support are available to deliver the highest quality care possible.”

The Heart of Giving campaign continues to grow each year, reflecting a strong culture of compassion, collaboration, and shared responsibility throughout Community Hospital.
