In commemoration of Arbor Day 2024, Community Hospital proudly placed a chinkapin oak tree on its premises yesterday, April 23, symbolizing a dedication to growth, resilience, and environmental consciousness.

Embracing its role as a cornerstone of regional health, Community Hospital recognizes the profound impact of green spaces on fostering healing and well-being. The introduction of the oak tree underscores the hospital's steadfast commitment to sustainability and the preservation of nature for future generations.

The planting ceremony was attended by Community Hospital staff, and esteemed representatives from the City of McCook's Tree Advisory Board, which included Mayor Linda Taylor, who delivered a proclamation. Chrissy Land, Western Nebraska's Community Forest Specialist, provided invaluable insights into the importance of tree planting for sustainable practices. Common Scents Nursery and Greenhouse played a pivotal role in preparing the ground and facilitating the tree planting process.
