Community Hospital Light of Hope Cancer Survivor Dinner a Success

The Cancer Awareness Committee of Community Hospital is pleased to share the success of this year’s Light of Hope Cancer Survivor Dinner, held on Saturday, March 1. The inspiring evening brought together over 30 attendees, uniting survivors and their loved ones in a celebration of resilience, perseverance, and hope.
The night began with a warm social gathering and beautiful live music performed by Simply Strings, setting the stage for an uplifting event. Amber Reynolds-Lorentz, PA-C, of the Anderson Center for Radiation Oncology and a member of the Cancer Awareness Committee, served as Master of Ceremonies and welcomed attendees with heartfelt remarks. Tyler Thiessen, Community Hospital Chaplain, led the evening’s prayer and MaryGrace Zeleny provided a beautiful blessing, offering a message of faith and strength that resonated deeply with those in attendance.
A highlight of the night was the lighting ceremony in the Healing Garden, where luminarias glowed in honor of each survivor, symbolizing the enduring light of hope within the cancer survivor community. Reynolds-Lorentz expressed gratitude for the opportunity to gather and reflect, stating, "Seeing the strength and joy in the faces of our survivors is truly inspiring. This evening was a testament to the power of hope and community."
The Cancer Awareness Committee extends thanks to the dedicated volunteers and Community Hospital’s Harvest Café and Catering team, as well as the many hands that made this special event possible.
Community Hospital remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting cancer survivors, not only through treatment but also by fostering a strong, encouraging network for those who have faced and overcome the challenges of cancer.
