Terrie graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Northern Colorado in 1993 and earned an Master in Public Health from Des Moines University in 2015. Since 2021, has been a Diabetic Educator, completing the National Diabetes Prevention Program training. She has worked as a registered nurse in Denver, CO, Jacksonville, FL, and McCook, NE.
