Hospital Hosting Insurance Education Meeting

September 16, 2021

Confused about health insurance? There have been several significant developments in health insurance this year. Because of that Community Hospital is hosting an insurance education meeting for the public on Monday, October 4 from 3:30 to 5:30 PM in Prairie View Meeting Room A.

Representatives from the Nebraska Department of Insurance will be present at the meeting to address these developments and field questions on any insurance issues from Nebraskans. The Department will also discuss several areas of insurance, including Medicare, which may be of interest to consumers.

Eric Dunning, Director of the Nebraska Department of Insurance, wants to remind individuals that open enrollment for individual Affordable Care Act plans begins November 1. "The Department will be discussing the forthcoming health insurance options available to Nebraskans and will also address questions or concerns insureds may have about any type of insurance," said Director Dunning.

During these sessions, Nebraskans will have an opportunity to hear and ask questions about:

  • New options available to Nebraskans in the individual health insurance market
  • Premiums for health insurance plans
  • Medicare
  • Improper marketing of health plans
  • Common questions asked by insurance customers
  • How the Department can help Nebraskans

The Department will offer two hours of free continuing education credit to insurance producers and brokers who attend the session.
