CHHF Enhances Access with Translation Equipment

McCook, NE - In line with Community Hospital’s dedication to providing equitable access to healthcare, the Community Hospital Health Foundation has acquired a Stratus Translation system for Community Healthcare and Hospice.

Serving seven counties in southwest Nebraska, Community Healthcare and Hospice offers essential home health, hospice, and palliative care services. Barbie Long, Director, recognized the growing need for improved language support due to an increase in non-English speaking patients and the easy-to-use Status Translation system currently utilized at Community Hospital.

The new Status Translation system significantly improves communication between healthcare providers and patients, catering to the needs of non-English speakers. Equipped with a video remote interpreting service that offers live interpreters around the clock, the system facilitates seamless communication in various languages, including American Sign Language. Its easy integration into existing workflows ensures convenient access to interpretation services for both patients and healthcare providers.

Barbie Long, Director of Community Healthcare and Hospice, expressed the commitment to providing equitable care to the diverse community, stating, "With the Stratus Translation system, we can bridge language barriers and deliver high-quality care to all patients."

This acquisition expands the availability of the Stratus Translation system to Community Healthcare and Hospice, reinforcing Community Hospital’s dedication to patient-centered care and advancing health equity within the community.
