CH Recognized as LEARN Breastfeeding Champion

Community Hospital has proudly been acknowledged as a L.E.A.R.N. (Lactation Education Across Rural Nebraska) Breastfeeding Champion! This esteemed recognition underscores our unwavering commitment to advancing breastfeeding initiation and support within both our hospital and the broader region.

On April 16, Pam Minary, nurse at Community Hospital, had the privilege of receiving this honor from Jackie Moline, Maternal/Infant Health Program Specialist at the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. This recognition serves as a testament to our continuous endeavors in cultivating an environment that encourages and supports breastfeeding mothers and their newborns.

The L.E.A.R.N. Breastfeeding Hospital Champion Campaign is deeply rooted in the mPINC Survey on Maternity Care Practices conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This initiative aims to elevate breastfeeding initiation rates and deliver comprehensive support to breastfeeding parents throughout the state. By adopting evidence-based messaging and practices, we aspire to positively influence the health outcomes of approximately 25,000 newborns statewide.

Together, as a cohesive team, we have the power to effect meaningful change in the lives of families within our region. Let's continue to prioritize maintaining the utmost standards of care and empathy as we celebrate this noteworthy accomplishment.
